Lenya Sevryukov was born on a quiet street, on the eastern outskirts of Stavropol, in a working family. He was the youngest, two sisters were the eldest: Taisiya, a future doctor, a participant in the Great Patriotic War, and Olga, who worked for a long time in the Stavropol detachment of sanitary aircraft.

Father, Ivan Nikolaevich, spent a lot of time in the tractor brigade of a local collective farm, so Lenya, when he grew up, became the main assistant to his mother, Sofia Pavlovna, and in the garden and in other matters. He studied, as classmates recalled, willingly, and even helped his comrades. The main feature is a love of reading. I never parted with the books of Sevryukov, even when he fought.

Lenya Sevryukov was no exception. Therefore, when the opportunity introduced himself, he entered the aero club. He studied at school during the day, and after classes he fled to the airfield.

Sevryukov graduated from the school and flying club in one year. As one of the best cadets in the year he was sent to the Yeisk Naval Aviation School. The years of study were tense. Two years later, the war began. Their release was accelerated, one of the consequences of this “acceleration” was the assignment after the graduation of the rank of sergeant, not a lieutenant.

Leonid Sevryukov, as an excellent student of study, was left at the school as an instructor, but he preferred the front, and his report was one of the first to lay down on the table of the head of the school. For the Komsomolets Sevryukov, other options did not exist. In the 7th fighter regiment, Sergeant Sevryukov arrived in the fall of the year.

The pilots of the regiment covered the coast of Crimea, Novorossiysk, the Taman Peninsula from the enemy aircraft. I had to fly a lot: 6-7 sorties per day. The clear sunny days of the coming spring allowed the enemy to make raids on Novorossiysk more and more often. After the next departure, the pilots literally did not depart from the aircraft, waiting for the new team "to take off".

On this day, he flew out as part of six fighters to prevent the next raid of the Germans. Sevryukov shot down a bomber, but there was no joy. But the fighting life at the airfield went on as usual.

On this day, fascist aviation tried to bomb Novorossiysk three more times, but each time the raids were reflected in our fighters. The enemy lost 9 aircraft in these battles, two of them shot down Sevryukov. The colleagues and fellow countrymen of the hero made a lot of effort so that the name of L.

Sevryukov remains forever in the memory of people.Already in October, Senior Lieutenant Peter Ushakov sent a letter to Krakom of the Komsomol with a request to petition for the renaming of the 2nd Mutnanskaya Street to Sevryukov Street. This request from the fellow soldier coincided with the proposals of the public. Soon the street, where L. Sevryukov was born and lived, began to wear his name.

Leonid’s parents were surrounded by attention, they provided everyday help, and after a while the city authorities built a new house for them and installed a memorial plaque on it. Near the monument, Leonid Sevryukov’s memory lines are now every year. At the school in a well-designed museum of military glory there is a stand dedicated to the hero of the Soviet Union L.
