The temple is a grandiose monument to victory in the Second World War and was opened in honor of its flying. This is the third largest temple in Russia, 95 meters high, accommodating to a person. It has an unusual bronze color for Orthodox temples, similar to protective army camouflage. The dimensions of the temple contain symbolic references to the history of the Second World War, for example, the width of the main dome is 19.45 m, etc.

The temple consists of two tiers. The lower small temple without windows, with low ceilings is decorated with tiles, icons from ceramics and has a separate hall with font dedicated to the baptism of Rus' by Prince Vladimir. The huge golden figure of Christ, who was going to the upper main temple, is met by the risen against the backdrop of the blue-black sky. The main icon of the temple is a specially created image of the Savior of a non -smoke -made, written on a wooden carriage of an old gun, raised from the bottom of the Neva, decorated with precious stones and bas -reliefs with scenes of battles.

The decoration of the temple is made of glass and metal, the iconostasis is made of bronze and copper. The steps and floor are laid out of meter metal slabs cast from the alloy of the paths of trophy German tanks and guns, weapons of a defeated enemy. The interior of the temple is richly decorated with mosaics with scenes of the dramatic events of the military history of Russia, and under the main dome - the world's largest mosaic of the rescue of the miraculous.

Glass stained -glass windows on the windows of the temple depict the highest military awards of Russia. The ceiling is also partially stained. The images of the saints in the temple are not quite ordinary, for example, the Virgin is similar to the heroine of the poster "Motherland", which with severity and a prayer in the gaze calls the sons of the Fatherland to the military exploits.

The temple violates many traditional ideas about Orthodoxy and, in many ways, similar to the museum. This, along with gigantic dimensions and rich decoration, attracts more tourists in it than believers. In meters west of the temple, there is a 78 bells controlled from a special keyboard. It is placed in a building resembling a triumphal arch, and for Russia it is something out of the ordinary.

True, the vanar experts consider his acoustic virtues doubtful. The multimedia complex is located around the entire perimeter of the temple: you can enter it anywhere, but it is better to start from the first hall - to the left of the entrance to the temple. In total, there are 35 halls, each of which is dedicated to certain events of the Great Patriotic War and offers complete immersion: lighting, voice acting, and even the temperature in the hall depends on the nature of the exposition.

Museum galleries contain tens of millions of photographs of the Heroes of the Second World War. You can find your relatives in the computer base of the complex, where there is information about the combat path of each of the 33 million participants in the war. The windows are represented by military weapons, personal belongings of soldiers and officers, documents, awards of the time of the Second World War.

Fascist banners and rewards are mainly under the transparent floor of the halls - visitors walk along them. But for the cap and uniform of A. Hitler, an exception was made - they are placed in one of the windows of the last halls of the museum. The length of the multimedia complex - steps of meters, by the number of days of the Great Patriotic War - it occupies an area of 15 thousand.

Visiting the museum is still free, but the turnstiles installed around the perimeter hint that it can soon become paid. A careful examination of the expositions of all halls will require several hours, but this is one of the best museums of the Second World War in Russia, which is definitely worth visiting. The effect of immersion allows you to feel the atmosphere of the events of the GG.

The ten -meter sculpture is located in the eastern part of the complex of the main temple of the Armed Forces, closer to the parking lot of Park Patriot. She symbolically depicts a woman who covered her face with her hands. Inside the sculpture, a candle lights on the grave of an unknown soldier in the Alexander Garden of the Kremlin.
